 Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, October 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Mickey Mathis will officiate. Place of rest will be in the Baker Sullivan Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday October 30th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Mr. William Luther Fleaner, age 79 of Dickson, TN died October 26, 2020 at TriStar Horizon Medical Center.

He was born in Hickman County, Tennessee and was the son of the late James Claude and Estella Beatrice Luther Fleaner.  He was a graduate of Dickson High School. He retired with some 32 years at Ford Glass Plant in Nashville. He was a close friend with the late Johnny Cash and the caretaker for his farm for over 30 years.  He attended the Five Points Church of Christ and was a member of the Dickson Masonic Lodge #468. Mr. Fleaner proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.

He was a loving and giving husband, father and grandfather. Some of the best thoughts from his children… ”He held our hands when we were small, he caught us when we fell, the hero of our childhood and of later years as well. Every time we think of you, our hearts just fill with pride, and though we’ll always miss you, Dad, we know you’re by our sides each day! In laughter and in sorrow, in sunshine and in rain, We know you’re watching over us until we meet again.”

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Wanda Sullivan Howell Fleaner of Dickson, TN, his three children, Jeff Fleaner and his wife Tracy of Nashville ,TN, Chad Fleaner of Lyles, TN and Era Jean Fleaner Hargrove and her husband Russell of Dickson, TN, his two step sons, Scott Howell and his wife, Dianna,  and Blake Howell and his wife Jessica all of Dickson, TN, his five grandchildren, Kelsey Fleaner, Lucas Pewitt, Kera Tidwell, R.J. Hargrove and Raylon Hargrove, his step grandchildren, Cole, Ryan and Alex Howell, his one great granddaughter, Emma Scarbrough, his sisters, Claudine Hayes of Bon Aqua, TN and Wilma Raper and her husband Randy of Dickson, TN, his brother, Michael Fleaner and his wife, Bunny of Bon Aqua, TN. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kameron Carmichel.
