      Private funeral services for the immediate family of Norma J. Kimbro, age 82 of Dickson, will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021, with Bro. Sam Brown officiating.  Due to the Covid pandemic and the family's desire to keep folks safe, there will be no public visitation or service.  She will be buried privately at Union Cemetery.  To view a livestream of the service on Saturday, click HERE.  

Norma died, Sunday, December 27 at NHC at the Trace.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center.

     Born in the Dull Community of Dickson County, Norma was the daughter of the late Leo and Celia Bowker Jones.  She was married to Carl F. Kimbro, who preceded her in death in 1997.  Together they owned and operated Carl’s Flowers for more than 15 years.  After they sold the shop, she worked in the floral department and other departments of the Kroger Co. for 15 years.  She also retired from Walmart in Dickson where she worked for 14 years.  She has been a member of Dickson First United Methodist Church for more than 60 years and a member of its Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Mary and Martha Circle.  There’s no way to count the number of greeting cards she sent out for her Sunday School Class over the years!  Norma was also a member of Dickson FCE Club and the Literary Book Club.  She was a loving mother to her three children and a doting grandmother to seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  Her other interests included flowers & gardening and cooking & baking.  She was always willing to share her recipes and to offer advice or encouragement to folks that she met along the way.  She was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Jones.

     Survivors include her three children, Teresa Henry (Mike), of Dickson, Sherry Kimbro (Leslie Poss), Tuscaloosa, AL, and Norman Kimbro (Annette), Dickson; two brothers, Bobby Jones (Barbara), Bellevue, TN and Mike Jones (Jackie), Woodstock, GA; a sister, Carol Banks, Florence, AL; a sister-in-law, Linda Jones, Dickson; seven grandchildren, Jenny Burgess (Chris), Josh Henry (Tasha), Jed Henry, Joey Neil, Amber Carr (Shaun), Samantha Neil, and Staci Barefoot (Justin); eight great-grandchildren, Ethan, Mary Ellen, Grant, Morgan, Annabelle, Aubrey, Phoenix, and Adalynn; several nieces and nephews.
