 Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 12 Noon from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Tommy Marvin will deliver his eulogy.  Place of rest will be in the Parker Fowlkes Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, March 15th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Marvin Elmer “Sleepy” Lewis, age 79, of Dickson, TN died March 11, 2021 at Tri-Star Summit Medical Center after a short stay.

He was born in Burns, TN, son of the late Noble and Margaret Daniel Lewis. He was educated in Dickson County Schools and graduated from William James High School in White Bluff.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. “Sleepy” retired from Kroger with 30 plus years of service where he met many people during his career. He attended the Parkers Creek Baptist Church. He was married to Mildred Elizabeth “Liz” Banks Lewis for 43 years.

“Sleepy” loved playing pinochle with family and friends. In the past he loved bowling and square dancing. He loved MLB and was a devout Chicago Cubs fan. After marrying Liz he developed love of cats and dogs.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Liz Lewis of Dickson, TN, his daughter, Cindy Cranfield of Bon Aqua, TN, his granddaughter, Jayla Cranfield, his brother, Floyd Lewis and his wife Pat of Dickson, TN. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jared Redden and a brother Charles Lewis.
