 Graveside and interment services for Ruby Louise “Mutt” Chandler, age 82 of Burns, will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Parker-Fowlkes Cemetery, Abiff Road, with Tommy Marvin officiating.  The family will receive friends at Taylor Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.  “Mutt” passed from this life on Monday, April 20, 2021 at NHC.

Born in Hickman County, “Mutt” was the daughter of the late Malcolm “Mac” and Blanche Russell Seagraves.  She loved her family and holds a special place in the hearts of her grandkids and great grandkids.  A wonderful homemaker, she was also known in Hickman and Dickson County for her cooking ability and had a following wherever she cooked.  She will be remembered by the patrons of the former Tuffy’s Market, her many friends at Cindy’s Restaurant; her lunchroom students at East Hickman High School and several other places she shared her cooking talent.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Gray Gilliland and by her sister, Faye Spencer.

Survivors include her husband and father of her children, Bobby Chandler, Burns; her son, Mike Chandler (Karen Proctor), Burns; her daughter, Connie Sullivan (Paul), Burns; Chandler; her sister, Dot Tidwell (Tony), Bon Aqua; grandchildren, Terra Allen (Jeremy), Brandy Morris (Justin), Heather Langford (Ryan), Ethan Gilliland, Chelsea Holden (Andy), and Chandler Sullivan (Sydney); her great-grandchildren, Tyler Allen, Tristan Gilliland, Lucas Gilliland, Renly Langford, and Maverick Sullivan (on the way!)
