Dorothy May White Daugherty, 77, of Fairview, Tennessee, passed away on April 27, 2021, following various illnesses including diabetes, a collapsed lung and cancer. Dorothy was born in Portland, TN on July 7, 1943. She graduated from Portland High School and later worked in the shirt factory there. She loved to help people in any way she could. For a while she drove the Mid Cumberland van where she took her riders to their doctor’s appointments. Just about everyone loved Dorothy. She always had a smile that would make your world a little bit brighter every time you saw it.
She was married to her blessed husband, Ted Daugherty on 11/21/1962. They were married for 57 years and raised three beautiful children. She was a devoted pastor’s wife for many years. She and Ted taught their children to follow the Lord in some aspect whether it was music or ministry. Dot, as everyone knew her, loved children. Her favorite thing to do was to teach Sunday School, especially the little ones. One of her precious little ones couldn’t say Ms. Dot so she called her Ms. God. Mama thought it was the most wonderful thing in the world. She enjoyed telling others about her Lord.
Dorothy Daugherty is survived by three children, Sherri (Rickey) Mangrum, Darlene (Bobby) Morgan and Dwayne (Tina) Daugherty. She had one step-granddaughter, Jennifer Mangrum, 8 grandchildren, Daniel (Bonnie) Morgan, Victoria (Kevin) Wilson, Ryan Morgan, Sydne (Austin) Harrison, Shyra Daugherty, Tiffany (Macy) Dotson, Elesha (Corey) Richards and Seth Daugherty. Finally, she had 13 great grandchildren, Alexis, Caleb & Madelyn Morgan, Ireland, Gideon & Bryleigh Morgan, Emmitt & Everly Rose Davidson, Natalie & Lena Blake Harrison, Joseph & Annabelle Gordon and Lincoln Richards.

Dot is preceded in death by her precious husband, Ted Daugherty, her parents, Henry Haywood & Bertha May Summers White, one sister, Edna Bodkin and one brother, Charles White.
