Mrs. Bledsoe, age 88, of Dickson, TN died peacefully at her home on Thursday May 13, 2021.
She was a lifelong resident of Dickson County, she was the last of 11 children born to the late Urcy Lee and Ethel Jane Fuqua Brown. Mrs. Bledsoe was retired from the State of Tennessee Unemployment Office where she worked for some 25 years. She married Douglas Ray Bledsoe on December 23, 1950 making their marriage almost 71 years. She was a faithful member of the Oak Avenue Church of Christ.
Mrs. Bledsoe was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved her time in the kitchen cooking and preparing meals for family and friends. During the gardening months she spent time canning along with another passion of sewing. She and her husband have always been avid Cougar football fans.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Doug Bledsoe of Dickson, TN, her two children, Danny Bledsoe and his wife Barbara of Dickson, TN and Kathy Vetter and her husband, Bill of Dickson, TN. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Jason Bledsoe, Brittany Miniard, Brandon Vetter, Kacie Bledsoe and Shane Vetter. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matt Bledsoe. Her legacy continues also by having 10 great grandchildren and 1 Great- great grandchild.
