     Memorial services will be Saturday June 12, 2021 at 4 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor John Smith officiating. Visitation with the family will be Saturday June 12, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM at Taylor Funeral Home.
     Mary Alene Ray, 100 years old, of Dickson, TN passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2021. Alene, known to many as Nannine or Aunt Nannine, was the rock and foundation of her family. She loved and cared for many as her own even though she never had any children of her own. She was born on February 1, 1921, (along with her identical twin sister, Martha Florene Ray DeLisle) to Albert Maskey Ray and Bessie Locke Ray. Alene was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dickson for over 90 years, she had a great faith in the Lord. She was a member of a quartet, along with her sisters, was a choir member of the church, and was a member of the McDowell Music Club for many years. She graduated high school in Dickson and was the poet of her graduating class of 1939. She loved to sing and dance. Her and Florene sang for the inauguration ceremony for Governor Frank G. Clement, as well as on different radio programs of the time. She was very fond of Glen Miller, Benny Goodman and Lawrence Welk. She loved to travel when younger and she valued spending quality time with her family and friends. She worked at the Red Cap shirt factory for over 40 years. She loved watching Dancing with the Stars on tv and doing word search puzzles. She greatly loved her kitty children Lilly and Willy.
     Alene was proceded in death by her parents Albert and Bessie Ray, her sisters Dorothy Ray Manley, Loretta Ray, Corrine Ray Jensen, and Martha Florene Ray DeLisle, nieces Debbie Jensen Hibbard and Judy Manley, nephews David Manley and Carl Manley, and great nephew Bobby Frederick, and great great niece, Taylor Manley. She is survived by nieces Betsy Manley Lubs (Fred) of Athens, Ga, Gail Jensen Blevins, of Roswell, NM, Lynette DeLisle Allen (Charles) of Huntsville, AL, Laura DeLisle DeBlock (Dennis) of Dickson, TN, nephew Phillip Manley of Dickson, TN, great nephews Roy Frederick, Roswell, NM, Dennis DeBlock, Jr. (Shannon), of Franklin, TN, Aaron DeBlock (Erika), of White Bluff, TN, Jason Allen (Amanda) of Huntsville, AL, great nieces Angie Manley (Clark), of Dickson, TN, and Amy Blakeney of Roswell, NM. She is also survived by a host of great great nieces and nephews.
     The family would like to thank the staff of Horizon Medical Center, Caris Hospice, members of the First Presbyterian Church, and the many friends that showed their support through prayers, visits, and food during this difficult time.

     Sorrow is but a fleeting emotion, but love is infinite, may the good Lord bless and keep you all.
