September 22, 1962 Loyd married the love of his life Reta Buttrey Nash. They raised their son Bart and daughter Yvette in Fairview and Dickson before moving to Clark Hill Farm in Pinewood Tennessee where they lived for 35 years. Loyd loved God, Reta and his family in that order. He enjoyed spending time outdoors on the farm. He raised several spotted saddle horses and enjoyed having members of his family show them. His greatest enjoyment was raising flowers. He had countless beautiful flowers and shared them with many people. Every fall he enjoyed giving mums to the special widow women in his community. When they moved from the farm and back to Dickson in 2020, he continued his love for raising flowers and sharing with others by starting a flower garden in front of their condo.

Loyd was a business owner in Dickson for 26 years. He owned The Li’l Carpet Store in Dickson where he became the saving grace for many people who needed work. He never treated anyone like they were different from him. He always wanted to help others any chance he got. He hired men not only to allow them the chance to earn money for their families, but so that he could show them Christ through his actions. Everyone who worked for Pa loved him because he worked hard, was always honest and never complained. Those who knew him best knew that they could come to him for any advice about family, life and remodels.

Loyd was preceded in death by his parents J.K. and Rosa Nash, Brothers Earl, Joe and Ken Nash and sisters Marjorie Litton, Modine Morgan and Maureen Meadows.

You would never hear him brag about anything, but he would be glad to share with you how proud he was of his family. His family knew how much he loved them and it shows as his legacy lives on in them. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Reta Buttrey Nash. He has two children, Son Bart Nash and his wife Kim, Daughter Yvette Nash Bishop and husband Danny. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Granddaughter Paige Wilson and her husband Scott, Lakyn Banks and her husband Joey and Granddaughter Olivia Nash. Great granddaughters Claire and Callie Wilson and Avannah and Ella Banks. He is also survived by his loving brothers and sister. Charles Nash, Annette Shepherd, Garner and Wife Stella Nash and his twin Brother Boyd and wife Thelma Nash.
