Jessie James Davis know by all as J.J. died suddenly June 19, 2021 from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.

J.J. was born in Davidson County, son of Terry Roth Davis and Pamela Sue Heard Edwards. He was a graduate of Dickson County Senior High School, Class of 1996. J.J. was a farmer and heavy equipment operator. He was of the Methodist faith. J.J. was the grandson of the late James E. Jackson, Jessie Heard, Marvin M. and Mary Elizabeth Davis.

J.J. always sported a big smile on his face and had the most contagious laugh. He was the kindest and happiest person ever.  He always wanted to help those around him, regardless the situation.  If one needed him, he was always there, rain or shine, day or night and always showed up with a smile. J.J. loved music more than anyone. He listened to all kinds of music, mostly Gary Allen or KESHA, but he really loved the song “Rocky Top”. He sang it in the talent show every year while in grade school. J.J. was a very hardworking guy. He always knew how to fix a problem and if he didn’t, he would figure it out. He loved farming and was good at it. J.J. has been in the tobacco fields ever since he was a kid. He always showed so much enthusiasm during the tobacco season. There isn’t a piece of machinery he didn’t know how to operate. As a heavy equipment operator, he loved his job and was good at it. He had two best friends:  his 1086 International and his 7610 Ford tractors. His kids recall their dad always taking them on rides in the fields on his tractors. He was the light in everyone’s life.

Survivors include his fiancée, Emily Hunter; his children, Austin Davis, Jessie Davis, Hunter Black and Libby Black; his parents, Pam and Buford Edwards, Terry (Bub) and Carol Davis; his brother, Brandon Edwards; his grandmother, Mrs. Marlene Jackson; his half-sister, Hope Edwards Archey; his half-brother, Lance Edwards.
