Ms. Linnie, age 101, of Dickson, TN died peacefully August 4, 2021 at Tri-Star Horizon Medical Center after a short stay.
She was born March 27, 1920 in Dickson, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Evans Hall. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert S. (Sonny Boy) Hall. Ms. Linnie was educated in Dickson County Schools and was a 1944 graduate Hampton High School. She was the last living member of her class.
After high school graduation, Ms. Linnie moved to Chicago, IL to live and work there for some 20 years and then came back home to care for her mother, Mrs. Mary Hall, who lived to be 102. Ms. Linnie was a long- time employee of Hodges Jewelers with 25 years of service. She was a faithful member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Dickson, member of the Pioneer Club and strong supporter of the NAACP.
Ms. Linnie was a kind, sweet spirited lady who always welcomed you with a smile. She loved her Dickson and would find her at so many community functions. She was crowned Hampton High Queen in August 2018.
She is survived by her devoted cousins; Linda M. McMurtry of Chicago, IL, many other devoted cousins. And a host of other relatives and friends. Other than her parents and brother, she was preceded in death by her cousins; Dorothy Jean Jackson and Margaret A. Brown.
