Celebration of Life will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church of Dickson and a meal to follow at First Presbyterian Parrish Hall in Dickson, Tennessee.  Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. to service at 5:00 p.m.

Elizabeth Ann Ferguson Givens, age 85 of Lyles, TN died on August 14, 2021 at the NHC of Dickson. 

She was born at home October 26, 1935 to James “Pete” Edward Ferguson and Iris Morell Temple Ferguson of Centerville, Tennessee. She passed away early Saturday morning August 14, 2021 with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was at NHC Rehabilitation Center in Dickson.

She loved numbers and accounting she work at National Life & Accident in Nashville and then a found a job closer to home with the ASCS office and then the Purina Feed Store and retired with Fabrication Specialties in Centerville, Tennessee.  After retiring she moved to Tulipwood Apartments and served on the activities committee where she made a lot of great friends. She loved living there she helped in the gardens. She moved to Lyles to live with son and daughter-in-law when she got sick with breast cancer and Dementia.

Elizabeth loved to garden, play card games and playing domino’s and playing with her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Edward Brent (Margaret) Givens she had one granddaughter Myranda (Renee) Brake-Mathews and three great grandchildren Silas Mathews, Taylor Jordan and Emereigh Mathews of Lyles. She has two sisters Betty Jo Claud and Shirley DeVore of Centerville, Tennessee. She also has beloved nephews, Russell DeVore of Fairview, Brian Claud of Mt. Juliet and Glen DeVore of Centerville and beloved nieces Lisa Johnson of Nashville and Lori Locke of Brentwood and Lynn Elliott of Sparta Tennessee and host great nephews and host great nieces and 2 great great nieces and numerous cousins.

Elizabeth loved children so if you would like to make donation, please direct it to St. Jude Children's Hospital or if you send flowers to Taylor Funeral Home.

We ask that you please wear a mask because we have loved ones who have compromised immune systems that will attending the celebration of life service, we will have extra  face mask if you need one.

The service will be live streamed by YouTube and Facebook with First Presbyterian Church of Dickson.
