 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be on Monday, August 23 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of service also at the funeral home.

Joanne M. Hancock, age 79, of Burns, TN passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was born on April 9, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Joanne was raised in St. Basil’s Orphanage and went on to attend the Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia, PA. She was proudly married to Fred W. Hancock for over 53 years upon his passing in November of 2015.

Ms. Hancock worked at the H.I. Siegel shirt factory and also owned and operated a State of TN Licensed Daycare in her home for over 35 years. She was active in the St. Vincent de Paul and Knights of Columbus for several years. Her most prideful title was that of Nanny.

In addition to her husband, Fred, she was preceded in death by her brother: Michael Papiernik; her sister: Theresa Martin; her brother-in-law: Van Hancock; and sister-in-law Faye Dunlap.

Survivors include her daughter: Debbie Carson (Mark) of Erin, TN; her sons: Fred T. Hancock and Brian Hancock, both of White Bluff, TN; her brothers: Stanley Papiernik, Theodore Papiernik, and Tommy Papiernik; her sister: Stella Barbara of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren: Cassey Hassell (Kevin) of Burns, TN, Trista Rickard (Tommy) of Erin, TN, Chasity Hassell (Eddie) of Decatur, AL, Amanda Jamison (L.J.) of Dickson, Brittany Hancock, Felicity Hancock, Michael Hancock and John Hancock, all of White Bluff, TN; her great-grandchildren: Haley Rickard, Michael Rickard, Gavin Jared, Hunter Petty, Peyton Hassell, Alexis Crafton, Nathan Rickard, Clay Lewis, Mason Hassell, Bentley Hassell, and Pierce Hancock; one great-great grandchild: Paisley Moss; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
