 Agnes Louise Ballard Dorey, age 102 of Dickson, TN died on August 22, 2021 at NHC in Dickson, TN.

A funeral service to memorialize Agnes was held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Taylor Funeral Home with Paul Eby and Susan Ballard Cole officiating.  Agnes was laid to rest at Union Cemetery. 

On March 10, 1919, Agnes Louise Ballard Dorey was the first born child of Albert Fred Ballard and Tennie Pearl Hackett Ballard of Pleasant Shade, TN. She graduated Hume Fogg High School at the age of sixteen. She also attended classes at Trevecca and graduated Secretarial School. During WWII, she worked at Oak Ridge (Manhattan Project) where she met and married her husband. After his work was completed there, they moved to Norfolk, VA. Where her husband started his own electrical engineering company. They enjoyed deep sea fishing and gardening.

After his death, she later moved to Winter Haven, FL. (Home of Cypress Gardens) where she started taking art lessons and became a very accomplished artist. She was an avid reader, gardener, with the most unique flowers, and bird watching. She traveled extensively and enjoyed researching her ancestors. She was a member of Gideon Carr chapter of DAR. For the last 35 years of her life, she lived in the Pinewood Community, where she continued her art lessons, traveling, Explorer’s Bible Study and Camp Garner’s Creek. She lived alone until the time of her death. She loved God and country and was looking forward to her heavenly home.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Cameron Dorey; sisters, Mary Helen Ballard Jones, Julia Frances Ballard Bruch; brother, and Wendell Holmes Ballard.

She is survived by her youngest sibling Juanita Ballard Cole (Dr. C.R. Cole) and numerous nieces and nephews.
