Eric Rhoderick Nottingham also know as Rod Manion of Waverly, TN formerly of Nashville,TN died Setp 7, 2021 at Centennial Medical Center.

At the age of 67, after a traumatic summer of chemotherapy, flood, and Covid, Eric Nottingham was called home by a merciful God.  Waverly welcomed Eric as a new resident three years ago as he chose a place to live peacefully after a lifetime of excitement.  Native to Oregon, he lived his young adulthood in Los Angeles where he owned his own pet grooming business then relocated to Nashville via Georgia to continue that profession. His greatest love was Jesus Christ and studying scripture.  He also enjoyed triathlons in his early years, computer solitaire, writing poetry, and chocolate chip cookies in the recent years. Always, he was ready for a great debate on any topic.

He never married nor had children, but considered many his family.  Always quick with a smile and sharp wit, he will be missed greatly by his loved ones from coast to coast.

Services will be held at Taylor Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM.  Visitation will be Monday evening, September13, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m.  until time of service. He will be laid to rest privately in Union Cemetery in Dickson, Tennessee.  To view a livestream of the service on Tuesday at 2:00 PM, please click HERE.

A special thank you from his adopted family, Scott and Julie Worley, to all his amazing Christian doctors who have taken care of him for more than twenty years and all his church family at Waverly First Baptist and friends who have lovingly watched over him in our community.  It really took a village.

Eric is now in heaven with those who have gone on before him, including his beloved brother, James Manion, and parents, Patricia and Mervyn Manion, nephews Ryan Sholl and Rory Sholl. He is survived by his brother Mike Manion and Sandy; sister Anne Manion and Vic Schunk; brother John Manion and John Wan; nieces and nephews: Felix Herrada and Laurel; Camille Sarder and Mahmud; Natasha Pineda and Jose; Joe Spanish and Amanda; and Mary Fulton and George Fulton and many grand-nieces and nephews.
