Born in Dickson, A.J. was the son of the late Israel Eli and Alice Brown Jackson. He married Sharon Joyce Knowles and they lived in Clarksville, and he worked as a machine operator for Nashville Wire Company. A.J. loved the outdoors; especially the time he spent with a rod and reel. He was also a “die hard” Green Bay Packers fan. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. A.J.’s unique personality will definitely be missed by his family and friends!
A.J. was preceded in death by his two children, Cedric Jackson and Ylantae Jackson; and by his siblings, William Conyers, Richard Brown, John Eli Jackson, Robert Lee Jackson, Gary Lee Burns, Dora Burns, and Felicia Wells.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Joyce Jackson, Clarksville; his step-mother, Willene Jackson, Burns, TN; his step-sons, Jessie Knowles, Clarksville, Ron Knowles (Martine), and Michael Knowles, all of Nashville; four sisters, Ernestine Strickland, Dickson, Patricia Patterson, Nashville, Serelena Jackson, and Priscilla Jackson, both of Clarksville; five brothers, Ernest Burns (Linda), Mississippi, Raymond Burns (Cernobia), Lebanon, TN, Teddy Burns (Nell) and Ronnie Jackson (Wilma), and Mark Jackson (Jean), all of Dickson; brothers-in-law, Lee Knowles, Jessie Knowles, and Kelvin Knowles and Kenneth Wells; a sister-in-law, Rosa Muse; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends, and a devoted friend, Tyrone, also known as “T-2”.
