 Ronald Ellis Tutt Sr., aka “Ronnie Tutt”, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 peacefully at his home with his family surrounding him.

 

A celebration of life  will be planned and announced to the public at a later date.

He was born in Dallas, Texas on March 12, 1938 son of the late Frank (Cotton) and Gipsy Tutt.

 

Ron was an accomplished musician and a legendary drummer. He played for Elvis Presley from 1969 until the death of Elvis in 1977.  He was a member of TCB…short for Takin Care of Business...which backed up Presley. He was Neil Diamond's drummer for some 40 years. Ron made the rounds with some of the most famous musicians of his day, including: The Carpenters; Roy Orbison; Billy Joel; and Jerry Garcia just to name a few. His dynamic playing influenced countless drummers and powered other musicians.

 .

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna; children Cindy, Tina, Christine, Terie, Rhonda, Ron Jr., Elisia, Nathan, Rachael, and Jared; numerous sons and daughters-in-law, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

He was the man we hope our daughters or sisters marry, and the father that every child deserves.
