Sheena Kay Lankford Shepard, age 65, of Dickson, died unexpectedly Friday November 5, 2021 at Centennial Medical Center.
Sheena was born February 2, 1956 in Ashland City and raised in Fairview, TN. She graduated from Fairview High School where she played basketball and softball. Sheena attended Middle Tennessee State University and graduated in 1977 with a degree in Secondary and Elementary Education. Sheena started teaching school in Dickson County in 1978 and taught there until she retired in 2008. She taught English to thousands of 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students during her 30 years in the Dickson County school system. She sponsored many clubs and activities over the years including supervising the Newspaper Club, serving as a Homecoming coordinator, and working countless football and basketball games.
Sheena married her husband Randy in 1982. Sheena and Randy enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and taking trips to Knoxville for UT football games. Sheena was a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church. Sheena had a jovial spirit that remained despite health problems later in life. Sheena’s proudest achievement was becoming a grandmother to grandson Shepard in September 2021. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all.
Sheena Shepard is survived by her husband, Randy Shepard, of Dickson, TN; her daughter, Leslie Shepard Wolfe (Travis); grandson, Shepard Wolfe; and mother, Claudine Lankford of Fairview, TN. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Lankford, and brother, Michael Lankford, of Fairview, TN.
