Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, December 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Charlie Meek will officiate. Place of rest will be in the Dickson Union Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday beginning at 12 Noon until time of service.
Those desiring, memorials are suggested to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
Johnny Ray Meek, age 81, of Dickson, TN died suddenly Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center.
He was born June 25, 1940 in Dickson County, son of the late Willie and Minnie Sanker Meek. He was retired from Ford Glass Plant with 31 years of service. Mr. Meek was a farmer, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping and for many years was heavily involved in livestock production.
Mr. Meek was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Agnes Burch Cauthen and Louise Kirk Hay and his brother Edgar Meek.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lila Sullivan Meek, his sons, Barry Meek and his wife Denise of Smyrna, TN and Jason Meek of Dickson, TN, and his daughter Lisa Meek Boyd and her husband, Chuck of Burns, TN and his grandchildren, Abigail Stephenson and husband, Thomas, Garrett Boyd, Allison Mader and husband Colton, Austin Meek, Addison and Alleigh Meek.
