Born in Dickson County, David was the son of the late J. W. and Cornelia Goodwin Pulley. He was married to the former JoAnn Overton (Pulley), who preceded him in death in 2016. David retired from Ford Glass Plant and then enjoyed a second career driving a school bus for the Dickson County School System. He developed a rapport with the kids on his bus and was much-loved as a driver. When he drove for extra-curricular events, many kids and their “parent chaperones” strived to get on “David’s bus!”
In addition to his parents and his wife, David was predeceased by two brothers, George Pulley and Cloyd Pulley.
Survivors include his son, Dan Pulley (Jo Beth), White Bluff; daughter, Paige Pulley Blanks, Dickson; a brother, Jim Pulley (Mary Alice), of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Jacob Blanks, Eli Blanks, and Lauren Hobbs (Mark Woodard); two great-grandchildren, Evan Holt and Samuel Woodard; several nieces and nephews.
