James, age 62, of Dickson, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born September 21, 1959 in Dickson, TN, son of Norma Few Wall and the late Lewis Wall. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 41 years, Loretta Wall; daughters Jaimie Patrick and Kate Ramey; granddaughters Savannah Patrick and Brooklyn Ramey; and brother David Wall. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Andrew Patrick.
James was an infrastructure engineering senior manager for Cigna Healthcare and pulpit minister for the Pond Church of Christ. He held a bachelor’s degree in management and was a graduate of the Nashville School of Preaching. While his career was in the healthcare and computer industry, his passion was preaching the gospel and serving others. His last sermons in November 2021 at Pond Church of Christ were on being thankful for fellow Christians and reasons to be thankful for the Bible. His last sermon summed up James’s outlook on life: serving God is our primary purpose in life, and God’s promises lead us to reconciliation with Him.
James loved people and was known for his quick smile and listening heart for people of all ages. He served at Leatherwood Bible Camp for many years and continued friendships and mentored campers as they grew up. James had a ready laugh and a sunny outlook on life even during difficult times in his life. He was unfailingly kind and interested in others and their lives.

James was passionate about his family and loved “his girls.” His biggest joy was family dinners and simple pleasures like being at home and watching “Gunsmoke.” He enjoyed driving a tractor, being outdoors, and recently added raising draft horses to his lifelong love of cattle farming.
