 Mary Lee Mackie, age 89 of Nashville, formerly of Dickson, TN died at her son’s home under hospice care on February 23, 2022.  Mary Lee raised her three boys in Nashville, was a Cub Scout den mother and a sports mom.  She was involved with Mother’s Day Out and Meals on Wheels through her church.  She liked playing cards, dominoes, and Wii bowling with her friends, going out to eat, and loved being with her family most of all. 

She was a daughter of the late Charles E. Bruce, Sr. and the late Bonnie Frazier Bruce.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Billie Chester, Margie Hamilton, Charles E. Bruce, Jr., and Tommie Vest.

Mary Lee is survived by her loving children, Bruce Mackie (Kathy) of Smyrna, TN, Leonard Mackie (Tammy) of Colonial Heights, VA, and Mark Mackie (Marla) of Smyrna, TN; her sisters, Jane Mott of Dickson, TN, Betsy Flick of Nashville, TN, and Frances Unruh of Danville, IN.  Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Brian (Abby), Kevin, Mallory, Beau, Brett, Blake, Aidan, and Lauren; and her adorable great grandson, Bennett.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mary Lee will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday March 1, 2022 at South End United Methodist Church, 5042 Edmondson Pike, Nashville, TN 37211.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, February 28th, and one hour prior to the memorial service, also at South End United Methodist Church.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to South End United Methodist Church, Alive Hospice, or the Flagstaff Church of Christ in Arizona.   Mary Lee will be laid to rest at the Bruce Family Cemetery, Dickson, TN.
