Nancy Ayers Jeffrey, age 84, of Chesterfield, Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on June 5, 2022. She was born in Nolensville, Tennessee on September 21, 1937. Nancy is survived by her husband of 64 years, William “Bill” C. Jeffrey.
Nancy had many talents, a drum major in high school, a joyful singer in church choir at 3 churches with, and a gifted seamstress and decorator. She was a stay at home mom during the early years carting four girls to swim team practice, dance, softball and cheerleading. She served as a legal secretary for many years to two prominent Richmond criminal attorneys. Nancy had a giving spirit leading a girl scout troop in Williamsburg and knitting blankets for crisis pregnancy center. She enjoyed weekends at the river and lake, loved finding and trying new recipes and always made holidays extra special for her family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Jewell Williams, father, Shirley Ayers, brother, Kenneth Ayers, sister, Reba Kelley and granddaughter, Cassie Godsey. In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her daughters Diane (Howard) Haverty, Sue (Philip) Reese, Kathy (Stuart) Burruss, Patricia (Bill) Godsey, her eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and Archie Jeffrey (beloved dog).
A service will be held, at 3pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Woody Funeral Home with a private burial in Nolensville, Tennessee.
