Memorial Services will be held at a later date. On Friday, June 10, 2022, Charlene May Guire, loving wife and mother of four children, passed away at the age of 90. Charlene, nicknamed “Nanny” to her family, was born on October 25, 1931 in Chattanooga, TN to Charles May and Emma May Raines.
She was a survivor having to learn how to run a newspaper press at the age of 14 when she found herself sent to Tennessee Prepatory School. She married Flavius Joesphus Guire at 15 and raised two sons, Jeff and David, and two daughters, Marie and Lynne. Charlene had a passion for fishing, especially crappie and catfish. When she wasn’t fishing, she was usually entertaining family as she was a great Southern cook. She knew how to run her home and would surprise many by her wit and spirit.
