On Thursday, August 4, 2022 the Angel of Mercy came down and received one of God’s most gracious children.
William Thomas “W.T.” Stacy was born May 21, 1936 in Dickson, TN to the late Lucille Nelson and William Stacy. He received his education at Hampton High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy for four years with his best friend Charles Pendergrass. He then received a degree as an electrician and worked for the former Schrader’s for some twenty years.
Mr. Stacy was a longtime member of the St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Dickson. He also was a proud and active 32 degree mason with the Rising Sun Lodge #49 where he has served a secretary for many years.
He was united in marriage to the late Wylodean Satterfield Stacy for 56 years until her death in January of 2022. He was also preceded in death by his brothers; Jessie and George Nelson, his sisters; Maggie Cole, Gretchen, Austin and Martha Hall.
William was a loving and devoted father to his sons; taking pride and being involved with their years of playing baseball. He also spent many years coaching with the Dixie Youth Baseball League. His time coaching and watching his sons play baseball was his joy.
He leaves behind his two sons; Deron Stacy and wife, Mary and Dion Stacy, his dedicated and devoted little brother; Mac Nelson, his grandchildren; De’Ron, Mariah, Dahkaree and Dion (D.J.), his special great grandchild; Mila Stacy and his loving nieces and nephews, his best friends; Charles Pendergrass, Dorris (Rabbit) Harris and Marvin Fossie.
