Family and friends are welcome to assemble at Union Cemetery at 9 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2022 for graveside services for Ann Watson Samuels.  She passed from this life peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022, two days before her 82nd birthday.  To honor her wishes for simplicity, there will be no visitation or formal chapel service.  For those desiring, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Born in Chipley, Florida, Ann was the daughter of the late William C. and Christine Gainey Guy.  She was a lady of great faith and affiliated with the Methodist Church wherever she happened to live.  Her early adult life was in the Houston, Texas area where she enjoyed working as a reservations agent for Pan American Airlines.  Later, she lived in Franklin, North Carolina and was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church.  More recently she moved to Dickson to be closer to her son and his family.  Ann’s interests, other than her family, included photography, genealogy, and traveling.  She loved Mexican food and God’s beautiful scenic outdoors.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Townsend and Thomas Samuels; a daughter, Denise Sheryl Townsend; a brother, Charles Guy; and a sister, Sarah Guy.

Survivors include her son, Mark Townsend (Susan) of Dickson; her daughter, Lisa Meyer of Houston, TX; a brother, Wyndon Guy (Terri) of Texas; a sister, Jane Rocha (Mike) of Houston; four grandchildren, Morgan Fairless, Andrea Meyer, Heather Southerland, and Austin Townsend; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Kade, Kourtney, and Willow.
