Joyce Holland Mitchell – Age 78 of Nashville, TN.  After a long battle with Alzheimer’s, Joyce joined her Heavenly Father Friday, September 9, 2022.  She is now cooking for everyone in heaven and visiting with loved ones that are not with us anymore.  Joyce was born in Garden City, Michigan on September 5, 1944, to Claytie and Lloyd Holland.  In 1945, she moved to Dickson with her family.  She graduated from Dickson High School in 1962, where she met her husband, Don.  She and Don were married on June 29, 1962 and were married for 60 years. She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church for 44 years.  Joyce was a homemaker and eventually got her Real Estate license and sold real estate in the Nashville area for 30 years.

 She is survived by her husband, Don Mitchell; sons, Brad (Jennifer) Mitchell and Darren (Heather) Mitchell; daughters, Donna Barker and Allison (Jeff) Carter; 8 grandchildren, Joseph Clark, Lynn (Ashley) Mitchell, Chad Barker, Ethan Mitchell, Ryan Barker, Avanell Mitchell, Makena Carter and Wilson Mitchell.  In addition to her immediate family, Joyce was a mother to many others, including Michael Allgood.

Preceded in death by her parents, Claytie and Lloyd Holland and brother, Ralph Holland.

 Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. (visitation Monday 3-7 p.m. and Tuesday 9-10 a.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road.  Burial to follow at Christ Church Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to The Waterford Smyrna Memory Care or Hillcrest United Methodist Church’s General Fund.
