     Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Ward, Eulogist. Visitation will be Friday evening September 30th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday beginning at 12 Noon until time of service. Place of rest will be in the East Dickson Cemetery.      Lucille Yvonne Holt-Vaughn was born in Dickson, Tennessee to God’s chose parents the late Roosevelt Holt and Mother Elease Barnes on August 6, 1942.
     Lucille was lovingly called (Aunt-T, Cile and/or Auntie). She received her early education at Hampton High School, where she graduated in 1964. She was chosen to be the salutatorian for her class. After high school graduation her desire was to continue her education. Growing up in the Dickson community she would often go outside and braid blades of grass which led to an interest in cosmetology. She attended cosmologist school in Humboldt, TN, where she earned her license.
     Lucille received her spiritual training at an early age at the Original Church of God congregation under the pastorage of Elder HG McCord. Later after the church was dissolved, she moved her membership to Worley Furnace Baptist Church under the pastorage of Louis Horner, where she remains a member until her death. Lucille held many offices during her Christian walk: Choir President, Trustee, Church Secretary, Secretary of Missionary Society, Treasurer of Church, President of Missionary. Lucille work with the youth of the church with Sherrie Holt on various activities and made sure that a production was performed during Easter and Christmas along the speeches for the children. Lucille was led to join the Mother’s Board at the church (2015). Lucille was appointed to spearhead the Homecoming Committee by former Pastor Eric T. Douglas.
     Lucille was a faithful member of Dickson Union Choir and was one of the first members of the organization. She has held multiple positions in the organization. She was the treasurer for the organization.
     Lucille has worked in many offices with the local and State Tennessee Beautician’s Association, Inc. She would often travel across the State of Tennessee to attend meetings, workshops and conventions. Lucille was a beautician for over 45 years. She loved her customers and her customers loved her too.
     Lucille was an active participant in the Hampton High School Alumni Association, which she loved to decorate for the annual class reunion.
     Lucille had one biological child, but she provided parental guidance and encouragement to many nieces, nephews, cousins, child and youth in their churches and community.
     Lucille was preceded in death by her mother Elease Barnes and her father Roosevelt Holt. Her siblings, Lawrence Knight, David Holt, Wanda Dansby, Marshall McCoy Holt and Garvin King. Niece and Nephews, Minister Clarissa Spicer and Trent Holt, Sr and Bryan Holt. Sister-in Love Venetia (Vicky) King. On Sunday afternoon, September 25, 2022, the Lord call His faithful, anchored servant, Lucille Yvonne Holt home to eternal life of no more crying, pain, sickness, mortal life trials or tribulations. Fond memories of relationships will forever linger in family, friends and her church community of faith.
     She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted caring and loving SONSHINE Benjamin Vaughn, Jr, Niece who she raised as her daughter Elease Dansby, devoted nieces Deirdre Dansby, K’leetha Spicer, and Jasmine Spicer, Ludean Pearson, nephews Shannon Capps and Ralo Cleveland, Pappas Pearson (Huntingdon, TN), Pietz Pearson (Tamika) South Korea, Devoted Sisters Annethia Collins, Virginia King, Alfredia Chappel, devoted God-grandchild Lil Ms. La’Ryaih Holt and a host of great nieces and nephew. Devoted cousins Pearl Thompson, Bobby Stockard and Gayle Stockard. Very Special friends Pastor Jimmy Overton, Carol Grimes, Sherrie Holt, Tish Ramey, Claudia Gilbreath-Winslow, Tina Milton, Donna Mallory, Patricia Spicer, Ann Hall-Mayberry, Sherry Richardson, and Rebecca Woodard. Also surviving is her Sister in Love Cyndi Howse (Steve). Lucille also leaves to cherish her memory, the congregations of Worley Furnace Missionary Baptist Church and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church: A City of Grace, a host of dear friends and a host of dear extended family and friends from area churches. She was deeply loved by many and will be thoroughly missed by all.
