Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, January 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Brother Tim McDonald will officiate. Place of rest will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Charlotte, TN.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Mrs. Emma Jean Jackson Felts, age 88, of Charlotte, TN died peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the Nashville Center for Rehab.  Those desiring, memorials are suggested to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

She was born in Dickson County to the late Charlie Martin and Hagar Ollie Wells Jackson.  Her husband, James “Junior” Felts, Jr., preceded her in death in 2004.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ray Jackson.  Emma Jean graduated from Charlotte High School in 1952.  She enjoyed attending all class reunions while she was able to do so.  She was a talented seamstress who retired from the Horace Small Manufacturing Co. in Nashville with many years of service.  After retirement, she was a representative for American Greetings.  

Emma Jean had a feisty spirit that matched her red nail polish.  She loved her family and was a caregiver to all.  Emma Jean loved her church and was a longtime member of the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church.  A nurturer by nature, she always growing and maintaining her flowers. 

Survivors include her son; Donnie Thiel (Sherri), her daughters; Dianne Luster (Darroll) and Sheila Herity (Mike), her grandchildren; Michelle Skaare (Craig), Chasity Paoli (Chris), Misty Marvin (Rob), Houston Thiel (Sheryl), Justin True (Kayley), Brad Herity (Ashley) and Taylor Herity, her 15 great-grandchildren and her 6 great-great-grandchildren, her stepchildren; Billy Ray Felts, Bertha Felts, Andy Felts, Neil Felts, and Vernell Finch.  Also surviving is Sadie, her longtime four-legged companion, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
