Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday prior to services beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Place of rest will be in the Dickson Union Cemetery.
Randall Thomson “Randy” Shepard, age 73, died at home Tuesday January 24, 2023 after a short battle with cancer.
Randy was born October 11, 1949 in Dickson, TN. He graduated from Dickson High School in 1967 where he played in the band and was on the golf team. Randy joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1969 and served for a year on the USS W.R. Rush. He attended the University of Tennessee Martin where he was an active member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity and earned a Bachelor of Science in 1975. Randy worked in the printing business at Quebecor Printing in Dickson, TN until 1991 and Hudson Yards in Nashville, TN until his retirement in 2009.
Randy married his wife Sheena in 1982. Randy and Sheena enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and taking trips to Knoxville for UT football games. Randy loved to read and was a frequent patron of the Dickson County Public Library. He could always be counted on to tell a good story, have a wisecrack for every question, and remember every UT football player for the last 50 years. He was a loving father and Popsie to Leslie and Shepard and a devoted husband and later caregiver to Sheena.
Randy Shepard is survived by his daughter, Leslie Shepard Wolfe (Travis); grandson, Shepard Wolfe, of Dickson, TN; siblings Dennis Shepard (Diana), Ricky Shepard (Gwyn), Donna Shepard (Sue), and Susan Shepard (Blake); mother-in-law, Claudine Lankford, of Fairview, TN; sister-in-law, Martha Shepard; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sheena Shepard; parents, Marvin Osco Shepard and Patricia Shepard; and brother, David Shepard, of Dickson, TN.
