Jamie, age 49, of Dickson, TN died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at her home.

She was a lifelong resident of Dickson County, a daughter to Nancy Haley Stokes Bates and the late James Norwood Stokes, Sr.  Jamie was a graduate of Dickson County Senior High School, Class of 1992.  She was a former employee of Dickson Electric System where she worked for some 26 years. She served as a cashier supervisor during her tenure there.

Jamie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and loved very much the time she spent with the order.  She was very fond of the Help Center and so proud of their involvement in our community and she being a part of that.  She was dedicated to the Dickson community and loved the town and was always involved.  Often, Jamie volunteered her husband, Ray without him even knowing that he was somehow going to be engaged in some kind of event.

How could one not love Jamie?  She had that bubbly personality, contagious smile and would truly light up a room when entering it. She never met a stranger, always getting to the bottom of who someone was and where they came from. She had great memories of being raised up in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.  Jamie was preceded in death by her two dads: James Norwood Stokes, Jr and Wendell Bates.

Jamie had lots of love for everyone.  Her love was her family, especially her children.  She was tops when it came to being a “Mother”.  Totally devoted to her husband, children, mother, siblings, nieces and nephews and her loyal friends.  Jamie loved life, every minute of it.  Her kind spirit and loving heart will truly be missed by our community.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Ledger; her children, Ben, Sonja, Brent, Dakotah and Isabelle; her mother, Nancy Stokes Bates; her brother, Jimmy Stokes and his wife, Gena; her sister, Vickie Owens and her husband, Mike;  her step brother; Keith Bates, one niece; two nephews; two great nephews and two great nieces.
