Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Welker-Jarman Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 15, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Wilbert Ralph Jarman, also known as “Chuke”, age 85 of Slayden, passed away on March 13, 2023, at his home. He was born on December 21, 1937, in Dickson County to the late Ima and Katie Waynick Jarman.

Ralph retired from Acme Boots after over 40 years of service as a mechanic. His passion was farming, fishing, and hunting. He also attended the Slayden Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Edgar Jarman, Carl Jarman, IW Jarman, Jr., Corbin Jarman, Esther Williams, Lester Jarman, and Carney Jarman.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 64 years: Betty G. Jarman; his son: Donald Jarman (Debbie) of Slayden; his daughters: Sheila Danley (Randy) of Goad Canyon, AZ, Shirley Hayes (Dwayne) of Burns, and Dana Payne (Russ) of Slayden; his brother: Tony Jarman (Gennine) of Charlotte; his sisters: Dorothy Miller (Jimmy) of Dickson and Ada Mae Leegon (Ronnie) of Erin; his grandchildren: Christ Jarman, Ashley Jarman, Tim Danley (Julia), Matt Danley (Brittany), Steffen Hayes (Katya), Nathan Hayes (Emily), Megan McCanless (Cody), Bethanie Cunningham (Jacob), David Lee (Josie), and Kaylee Payne (Shane); as well as 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
