A celebration of the life of Joe R. Crocker, age 80,of Dickson has been set for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 from the East Hickman United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.  Mr. Crocker died at Vanderbilt Medical Center on April 3, 2023, and he will be cremated. 

Born in Kingston Springs, Joe was the son of the late Cleo Taylor Crocker (Miller) and the late J. G. Crocker.  He served his country for 10 years in the United States Marine Corps.  Joe retired as a mechanic, having worked mostly as a diesel mechanic on 18-wheelers.  He was a member of the East Hickman United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his life partner of 28 years, Linda Gourley, Dickson; his daughter, Robin Cochrane, Nashville; step-children, Scarlett McMeen (Joseph), Todd McElyea of Dickson and Chuck McElyea of Waverly; sisters, Janice Crocker, White Bluff, and Judy Harris (Robin), Ashland City; a granddaughter, Catherine; great-granddaughter, Zoey, special grandson and Joe’s sidekick, Cash McMeen; several other bonus grandchildren; several half-brothers and sisters.
