Long before you entered nursing, The Lord had played his part, Planting seeds of love and kindness in the portals of your heart. For its clear that you’ve been gifted with a sympathetic ear, and blessed from the beginning with a willingness to cheer. And the people you care for are better off by far, when they’re touched by your compassion, by the person you are. For in time of woe and worry, When they,re frightened or they’re blue, Nor one could be more consoling than the friend they’ll find in you!  By Genie Graveline

Judy Albright Brazzell, age 78, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on April 5, 2023.

She was born in Davidson County and was the daughter of the late Eddie and Lorene Keele Albright. She was preceded in death by a sister Loretta Turner and a brother Randy Albright.

Judy was a kind, giving, sweet- spirited lady who loved nothing more than giving to others.  Nursing was her life, giving to her patients and teaching other nursing students how to properly be a good care giver. She graduated from the Baptist Hospital Nursing Program and served as a registered nurse at the former Goodlark Hospital and Baptist Hospital. She served in many capacities in nursing, from being a floor nurse to a department head. She was heavily involved in the opening of the first coronary care unit at the former Goodlark Hospital. Judy attended the very first cardiac class in Middle Tennesse at Vanderbilt University Hospital.  She taught nursing for several years at the Tennessee Vocational School.  Later she owned one of the first home health care agencies in Middle Tennessee, Town and Country Home Health Agency.  There she could serve patients and their families with dignity and love. While in the home health agency business she proudly served as nursing director for the Texas Home Health Care.

Judy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Billy W. Brazzell; her three children, Danny Brazzell, Dennis Brazzell and Dana Gorday and her husband, Chris; her brother, Wayne Albright and his wife Dianne; her grandchildren, Ryan Brazzell, Jordan Mathews, Carson Brazzell, Emma Grace Brazzell, Hannah Brazzell, Alex Gorday and Addison Gorday; her great grandchildren, Riley Hudson, River Mathews, Dallas Mathews, Adelaide Mathews and McKenna Mathews.
