Funeral services will be Friday May 5, 2023, at 1 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Ward Eulogist. Place of rest will be in the Worley Furnace Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday May 5th from 12 PM until time of service.
Lillie Mae Mays, age 71 of Dickson, TN passed away Wednesday April 26, 2023. Born in Dickson, TN she was the daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Clara Nash Sanders and was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Mays; her stepdaughter, Kimberly Mays, her sisters Pamuela Sanders, Gerti Peacock, her sister, Allie Holt and her brother, Elbert Sanders. Lillie retired from Horizon Medical Center where she worked in Housekeeping. She was a member of the Worley Furnace Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Benjamin Mays of Dickson, TN, Minister Brent Mays of Dickson, TN, Brian Mays of Dickson, TN; step-son, Troy Mays of Waverly, TN; daughters, Monica Mays of Dickson, TN, Missy Mays of Nashville, TN; step-daughter, Darlene May of Illinois; brothers, Gene Sanders (Ruby) of Dickson, TN, Robert Sanders of Dickson, TN; sister, Eunice Hereford (Amos) of Nashville, TN; lifelong friend, Leon Bell of Dickson, TN; devoted niece, Diane Holt of Nashville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Edwin, Azaria, Evan, Asha, Jaden; 3 great grandchildren, Jayce, Zola, Ariella; host of step-grandchildren; Roberta Burns, a host of nieces and nephews, and fur baby Bella.
