Mrs. Edna Ruth Choate Brown, age 92, formerly of White Bluff, TN passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Williams Cemetery in White Bluff, TN.

Ruth was born on January 13, 1932, in White Bluff, TN, the daughter of the late Lillie Dickson and William Dawson Choate. A graduate of William James High School, Ruth married her high school sweetheart, William Edsel Brown, on September 1, 1951. It was a journey they would share for over 70 years. Ruth was proud to support Edsel’s service as a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and combat veteran in the Korean War.
Ruth and Edsel were dedicated members of White Bluff United Methodist Church, where Ruth was a lifetime member. They were active volunteers in both church and community functions, but Ruth’s most important role was being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Brown; her siblings, Ann Choate Johnstone, Frank Choate, Daisy Choate Sullivan (J.W.), and Doug Choate (Margaret).
Mrs. Brown is survived by her two sons, Keith Brown (Lou Anne) of Pegram, and Wendell Brown (Christy) of Brentwood, as well as five grandchildren, Spencer Brown (Vanessa), Leslie Brown, Andrew Brown, Landon Brown, and Winston Brown.
