Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 2PM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Pastor Bobby Eddings will officiate. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 12pm until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Furnace Cemetery.
Roberta Lee Melton, age 93, of Waverly, TN, passed away November 25, 2024.
Roberta was born on July 23, 1931, in Greenup, KY to the late Forrest Gullett and Della Nelson McDanielle. Roberta was a mother of 8 and spent most of her time as a homemaker and had also cooked in various restaurants. She was a Christian woman, who loved the Lord and her church family at Lighthouse Ministries in McEwen. She will be remembered most as being a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, John Thomas Melton, her daughters, Helen McWilliams, Virginia Hagewood, Jeannie Hutchison, grandson, Michael Deener, granddaughters, Tamara Choate, Stephine Hempel, her sister, Louise McConnell, her brothers, Hubert Gullett, Murl Gullett, Gene Gullett, Paul Gullett, and Dean Gullett.
Survivors include her sons, Robert S. Melton, Mark R. Melton, John K. Melton, daughters, Sherry Abernathy, Victoria Estes, sister, Sherline Helton, several nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.
