A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Betty Lou Nicks Wolcott, known to family and friends as 'Boopers', age 77 was conducted Sat. Oct. 1, 2011 at 3 PM from the First United Methodist Church of Dickson, TN with the Rev Allen Weller, Minister and Bro Robert Cullom giving her Eulogy. Place of rest is in the Williams Addition of the Dickson Union Cemetery. Mrs. Wolcott, a most loving Boopers, died Sept. 28, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. Widow of the late Dr. Bob E. Wolcott Sr. Betty Lou was a lifelong resident of Dickson; she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ida Clement Nicks. Graduate of Dickson High School, Class of 1952, Attended Ward Belmont, Vanderbilt University, member of the Tri Delta Sorority, DAR. She was a retired Title One Secretary of the Dickson County Board of Education, Founding board member of the American Junior Golf Association, and a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Dickson, TN. Her Grandchildren will serve as casket bearers and Honorary will be: J. M. Clement, Dr. B. J. Smith, Dr. Rolland Luplow, and Sam Leech. Survivors include her Daughters: Judy Anne Legg and her husband, Mike of Dickson, TN, Betty Nicks Smith and her husband, Jerry of Dickson, TN, Her Son; Bob Evans Wolcott, Jr. and his wife, Valarie of Burns, TN, her Grandchildren; Evans Hoover Smith, David Michael Legg, Jr. and wife Camille, Ross Vincent Smith, Tolbert Wolcott (Wolly) Legg, Anne Wolcott Smith, Benjamin Salyer Wolcott, Collier Nicks Wolcott, Hunter Evans Wolcott. Her Sister; Anne Nicks Rochelle of Gallatin, TN.
