Mr. Mason was born on January 15, 1933 in White Bluff, TN. He was a son of the late Edward Lee Mason and the late Maude Bissinger Mason. He graduated from William James High School. Early in the year of 1953 he entered military service with the U.S. Army, just before the end of the Korean War. He was employed with the United Methodist Publishing House for over 36 years where he worked as a book binder. His father was a farmer, and for many years when he arrived home for work, he went to work on the farm. He was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and loved to fish and run trotlines. He spent many days fishing around the Turkey Creek Marina of the Tennessee River.
Raymond was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Helen Burns Mason; and his daughter, Janice Cordell.
Mr. Mason is survived by his wife, Anita Elizabeth Burns Mason; his grandson, Mason Cordell; his son-in-law, Steve Cordell; his stepdaughter, Barbara Springer.
