Funeral services for Charles Gary Rich, age 82 of Charlotte, Tennessee will begin at 3 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2025 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Tommy Marvin officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 11 a.m. Monday and will continue until time of service. Mr. Rich died January 9, 2025 at his home.
Born in Nashville, Gary was the son of the late Charles Edward and Hazel Elizabeth Beckham Rich. He served his country in the United States Army and trained at USA Armor School in Fort Knox, Kentucky in Radio Maintenance Procedures. He served as Armor Communications Specialist and received his Parachute Badge. In civilian life, Gary worked in law enforcement agencies, retiring as Captain from the Fairview Police Department.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Linda Lawrence Rich of Charlotte; children, Rondia Felts (Danny) of Charlotte, Jeffery Rich (Tina) of White Bluff, Gary “Wormy” Rich (Jeannie) of Cumberland Furnace; and Charlie “Chuck” Rich (Cindy) of Charlotte; a brother, Ralph Edward “Doodle” Rich of Smithville, Tennessee; a sister Clara Elizabeth “Libby” Rich Erickson (Ron) of Wayne, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
