Age 87 of White Bluff, TN died on March 25, 2015. He was born April 29, 1927 in Dickson Co., TN. He was a Son of the late William Boyd Buttrey and Eddie Lee Larkins Buttrey. Mr. Buttrey served his Country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He was a surveyor for the Army Corp. of Engineers for over 35 years.  He attended the Crossroads Church of God of Prophecy where he was instrumental in the production of the apple butter for the Apple Butter Festival. His interest in the town of White Bluff could be seen through his participation in activities with the White Bluff Boy Scouts and the White Bluff Community Center. He was an all-around outdoorsman who enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting dove, duck and deer. He took great care and pride in keeping the grounds of his home well-kept and manicured.  
 Reuben Buttrey is survived by his Wife of over 65 years, Dorothy Williams Buttrey of White Bluff; His 7 Children, Rebecca Griffin of White Bluff, Clay Buttrey of Columbia, Philip Buttrey & his Wife, Marlene of White Bluff, Dinah Hazlett & her Husband, Tony of Clarksville, Randall Buttrey of White Bluff, Nancy Williams of White Bluff, Scott Buttrey of White Bluff; Brother, Calvin Buttrey & his Wife, Freddie of Lenoir City, TN; Sisters, Ila Martin of White Bluff, Eddie King & her Husband, Lyle of Arab, AL; Sister-in-law, Mary Buttrey of White Bluff; 16 Grandchildren, Jennifer Foster, Jason Griffin, Jesse Buttrey, Matthew Buttrey, William Buttrey, Paige Thompson, Casey Buttrey, Daniel Buttrey, Elizabeth Couts, Anthony Hazlett, Ben Buttrey, Harlan Williams, Hadley Williams, Josh Dean, Brianna Buttrey, Caleb Buttrey; 14 Great Grandchildren, Taylor Griffin, Boyd Griffin, Drew Perry, Justin Foster, Alex Foster, Haley Foster, Henry Buttrey, Susan Buttrey, Amber Buttrey, Hailey Nicks, Felicity Nicks, Mallory America, Mallory Couts, Allison Couts; 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Wyatt Robbins, Zoey Foster; Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Siblings, Julian Buttrey, Roscoe Buttrey, Bessie Buttrey Bradley. 
Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-8pm and on Sat. from 10am-time of service.  A funeral service for Mr. Buttrey is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1pm at the Taylor Funeral Home.  Place of rest will be in the Chapel of Prayer Mausoleum at the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or to the Crossroads Church of God of Prophecy Building Fund.
