Joseph Levern “Joe” Nesbitt, age 69 of Dickson, entered eternal rest unexpectedly on August 13, 2016 at his home. Funeral services, beginning with Masonic Rites will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of service. A time of viewing will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.       Born in Dickson County, Joe was the son of the late Joseph T. Nesbitt, Sr. and the late Frances Elizabeth Blue Corlew. Joe worked for a number of years in the Conservation Department for the State of Tennessee. In later years, he has worked in management for convenience and retail stores. Joe was an active member of both St. James A.M.E. Church and Rising Sun Masonic Lodge #49. He answered the call to serve his church as a Trustee and by serving on its Usher Board. He answered the call to the Masonic fraternity by working tirelessly to raise funds for charitable purposes and to promote harmony among his fellow men. He recently was awarded recognition as “Mason of the Year.” Joe will be greatly missed by his church and by his lodge as a service worker who championed for the good of all involved. He did much to promote and improve relations of friendship and brotherly love within the community.
