Donald, age 69, died peacefully at his home on Sunday April 9, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born August 3, 1953 to the late Dorothy Dotson Graybill. He was the grandson to the late Floyd and Allen Taylor Dotson whom he admired tremendously. He was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Jones. A hard worker, and longtime tool and dye mechanic, he could build and fix just about anything. He was extremely quick-witted, known for his amazing sense of humor which always brought laughter wherever he was.
He loved all things outdoors, working with his hands, farming, and tending to his honeybees. More than anything else, he loved his family and friends, including his church family at Bethel Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for 18 years. His wife and his girls were his pride and joy. However, for the past twenty-five years, he was affectionately known as “Paw” as his grandchildren became the center of his life. He loved more than anything to follow his grandchildren to football games, baseball games, softball games, soccer games, wresting tournaments, cheerleading, track and cross country or just to the campground to watch them laugh and play. Wherever his grandchildren were, he wasn’t far behind.
Paw was always there for you and always ready to help anyone. As the pillar of his family, he will be missed tremendously but the values he cared about and instilled in all of them will live on through his daughters and grandchildren.
Paw is survived by his wife of 52 years, Delilah May Bagwell Alexander of Dickson, TN; his children, Michelle Chandler (Jeff), Louise Stanford (Todd), and Cindy Estes (Phillip) of Dickon, TN, Maggie Henderson (Scott) of Fairview, TN, and Beth Murphy (Caleb) of Charlotte, TN; his 15 grandchildren, Derek and Brynn Chandler, Andrew, Matthew and Allie Stanford, Audra and Hayden Estes, Austin Phillips (Deana), Scotty, Bryson, McKinley, Hope and Alley Henderson, and Jason and Justin Murphy; great grandchild Hazel Phillips; his siblings, James, Frank, Johnny and Larry Alexander, Jerry Graybill and Kay Hudson; his special aunt Louise Ferguson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
