Mrs. Annie Frances Wall Kilian, age 88 of Cumberland Furnace, TN died on Monday, September 4, 2023.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Taylor Funeral Home. Her place of rest will be in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Mrs. Kilian was born on January 28, 1935 in Cumberland Furnace, TN. She was a daughter of the late Elbert Cecil Wall and Virtress Burney Wall. Her first eight years of education were received at the Sweet Home School. She was a graduate of Charlotte High School and attended the Nashville School of Business. On December 6, 1958, she joined in marriage with Donald Edward Kilian, a journey that would last 57 years. Frances worked as a mail carrier for the USPS and retired after nearly 20 years of service. She had been active with the Cumberland Furnace Volunteer Fire Department since 1989 having filled the roles of a first responder and a member of the board of directors. Frances was a lifelong farmer. She was very involved in the year-round events of farm life working alongside her husband whether it be gardening, canning, driving a tractor, harvesting or raising cattle. She loved her family and enjoyed playing card games with them. Frances was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kilian; her sisters, Mary Leon Wall Wilson of Cumberland Furnace, TN, Ethel Virginia Wall Hayes of Dickson, TN, Kate Evelyn Wall Goodman of White Bluff, TN; son in law, Ralph Edward Lee of Cumberland Furnace, TN; and a grandchild, Mary Elizabeth Kilian of Cumberland Furnace, TN.
Mrs. Frances Kilian is survived by her daughters, Deborah Kilian Singh (Karan) of Tyler, TX/Birmingham, AL, Pamela Kilian (Charlie) of Cumberland Furnace, TN, and Patricia Kilian Lee of Cumberland Furnace, TN; her sons, Donald Kilian Jr. (Staci) of Cumberland Furnace, TN, and Jeffery Kilian (Becky) of Cumberland Furnace, TN; her grandchildren, Sarah Shipley (Grant), Ryan Singh, Eric Hodges (Brittani), Kenzie Hodges (Nathan Sterling), Ethan “Bo” Hodges (Hannah McDaniel), Stephanie Kilian (Jason Stokes), Bethanie Myers (Spencer), Whitanie Smith (Nathan), Melanie Kilian (Blake Hutchison), Jessica Lee, Aaron Lee (Emily), Christopher DeLoach (Angie), Riley Harp (Tanner), Samantha Kilian, Bailey Kilian, and Robin Kilian; her great grandchildren, Ashton Shipley, Madison Shipley, Avery Hodges, Camden Hodges, Braxton Hodges, Fielding Sterling, Audrey Hodges, Gauge Kilian, Autumn Kilian, Olivia Myers, Otto Myers, Cecil Myers, Annie Smith, Weston Lee, Hudson Lee, Amelia Lee, Rosalie DeLoach, Maddux Deloach, and Daylen Harp. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
