 Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, October 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Mickey Mathis will officiate. Lois Martin Sandusky, age 101, of Bon Aqua, TN died peacefully September 28, 2023 at Life Care Center of Centerville.

She was born in Hickman County and was the daughter of the late W. T. and Bessie Overby Martin. She was the widow of the late Talmadge M. Sandusky, who proceeded her in death in 1991.  She was a member of the Five Points Church of Christ.

Mrs. Sandusky was a graduate of Hickman County High School, Class of 1941. After high school she went to Nashville.  She worked a few years in the manufacturing industry and later attended cosmetology school to be able to pursue her career in cosmetics.  In 1947, she and a friend moved to Louisville, Ky.   Mrs. Sandusky was a vital part of opening a new Sears Store where she would take her place in the Cosmetic Department. During her career, she had the pleasure of meeting so many of the cosmetic line founders.  She retired in 1970.

After moving to Louisville and working professionally she met the love of her life Talmadge M. Sandusky at church. Lois and Talmadge married in 1957.  Their union remained until his death in 1991. After her retirement they moved back home to Tennessee where Mr. Sandusky continued to work for the L & N Railroad.

Lois Martin Sandusky was a kind, sweet, southern lady who always had a presence wherever she was. She was a lady of class and distinction. 

Mr. and Mrs. Sandusky had no children of their own but were truly blessed with a loving and caring family including her niece that was more of a daughter, Arcana Dedman and her husband Bobby.  She was also blessed with loving and caring great nieces and a great nephew that were more like grandchildren; David Dedman, Angie Cobb and Anne Lusk.  She also had 7 great- great nieces and nephews that were her great- great grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Michael Lusk, Khristian Harris-Lusk, Kameron Harris-Lusk, Payton Boyd, Corey Dedman, Amous Dedman.
