Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning, December 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Allen Weller will officiate. The visitation will be Tuesday evening, December 5th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Bobbie Natalie Coleman Bowen, age 95, of Dickson, TN died Sunday December 3, 2023, at NHC Dickson.

She was born in Dickson County daughter of the late Willard Stegall and Lois Sugg Coleman of Dickson, TN. She was a graduate of the Class of 1946, Dickson High School. She received a B.S. degree from George Peabody College in 1950 and an M. A. degree from Austin Peay State University in 1974. She was employed as a teacher and librarian at William James School, Dickson High School, and Dickson County High School, retiring in 1989. She was previously employed at Methodist Publishing House in Nashville and at Proctor and Gamble Defense Corporation in Milan, TN. At her death, she was the longest tenured member of the Dickson First United Methodist Church at 78 years.

On August 12, 1950, Bobbie was married to the late Charles Lyndol Bowen, son of the late Charles Dewey and Mabel Fielder Bowen of Dickson.

Survivors are her children: Lisa Anne Bowen Field (Bob) of Dickson, TN and Dr. Charles Kevin Bowen (Tamara) of Clemmons, NC; Grandchildren: Charles Coleman (Cole) Bowen (Brittney) of Gibsonville, NC, Jenna-Beth Bowen Longo (Mat) of Wendell, NC, Matthew Kevin Bowen (Breanna) of Clemmons, NC, and Jessica Katelyn Bowen Baugus (Brandon) of Welcome, NC; Great Grandchildren: Charles Corben, Collyn  Ansley, and Connley Oakes Bowen of Gibsonville, NC, Everley Jade and Isla Blake Longo of Wendell, NC, and Lottie Roux Bowen of Clemmons, NC; Sister: Betty Willard Coleman Herring of Auburn, AL.
