A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
Shelia Diane Kimbro Johnson, age 75 of Dickson, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in her home surrounded by family. She was born in Dickson County on September 7, 1950, to the late Ernest Charles Kimbro and Vara Sullivan Kimbro.
Shelia worked for many years for Dickson Medical Associates and then for the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office as an administrator. She also worked in security at Horizon Medical Center for several years. She was a faithful member of the Sylvia Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Roy “Jimmy” Johnson.
Survivors include her children: Michael Gilmer (Chris) of Dickson, and Tiffany McDaniel (Woody) of Decatur, AL; her sisters: Kay Willis, Joyce Edmisson, and Melba Kimbro of Dickson; her grandchildren: Constance Davett Myatt, Bryan Gilmer (Liz), and Steven Gilmer (Susan), all of Dickson, and D.J. Nichols (Cameron) of McEwen; and her six great-grandchildren.

A kind and wise servant of Christ. A good friend who was integral in my coming to Christ. A fantastic laugh and smile and made a great glass of sweet tea. Have missed her and Jimmy’s mentorship for many years and take heart that they both will be in God’s presence forever. Prayers for her family whom she loved and spoke of often.

When I own Tices Springs she stop in occasionally get fuel or chicken strips always had a wonderful smile and a kind word.
Mrs Shelia was a precious beautiful lady inside & out I worked with her at horizon medical center me & mom till my mom retired due to health issues no matter where I would see her she would always ask about my mom she would always has a smile and beautiful spirit i am so saddened to learn of her transition from this earthly home to rest in God’s Arms my prayers for the family at this time that God will provide comfort and peace in the days months and years to come
