Mr. Jim Gray, age 78, of Bon Aqua, TN, passed away peacefully at home, on November 3, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on November 5, 1946, in Bon Aqua, TN. He was the son of the late Carl Emerson Gray and Hazel Martin Gray. Jim was a Vietnam Veteran, having served his country in the United States Army. He was a proud member of the VFW, Post 11160 and a lifelong member of the NRA.
Jim worked as a plumber for many years. He was a skilled tradesman. He loved woodwork and drawing. He also loved farming, gardening, and canning. He enjoyed watching wrestling and old westerns. He was always the cut-up who loved to pick on everyone. He will be remembered most for being a loving father and grandfather. His family was his pride and joy, and he was known as “Pa” to those closest to him. Pa was always there for you.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Sandra Hopper Gray; his 7 brothers, Bud Gray, Sterling Gray, Edgar Gray, Willard Gray, Doug Gray, Dale Gray, and Ricky Gray; and his 4 sisters, Lorene Choate, Christine Brown, Wilma Simpson, and Betty Graham.
He is survived by his daughters, Tabatha Manley and her husband Dwayne, Kristi Doucette and her husband William; his grandchildren, Chris, Courtnee, Kyle, John Shannon, Jesse, Zack, Brittani, Jonathan, Kimberly; and his great-grandchildren, Sophie, Hunter, Logan, Emmie, Malakai, Theon, Malia, Theia, John, Kal-El, and Edwin; his brothers, Gerald Gray and his wife Joyce, and Danny Gray; his sisters-in-law, Nancy Gray, Faye Gray, and Betty Ruth Gray; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service will take place on November 15, 2025, at 12PM.
