Russell Alan “Rusty” Street, age 68, died at his home in Kingston Springs, TN on December 11, 2025.  A graveside service to honor and celebrate him will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the Scott Cemetery in Kingston Springs.

The eldest of three children, Rusty was born on May 26, 1957 in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late William Russell Street and Georgia Ann Kellam Street.  He spent his professional life working in commercial and residential building, most recently for Phipps Construction Company, where he oversaw projects ranging from custom homes to private schools, recording studios, and churches.  He trained and showed Tennessee Walking Horses, and his passion for the outdoors was well-known.  For much of his life, and well into his later years, Rusty would chase the thrill of hunting and fishing, and he had several rooms full of trophies to prove his success.

A master carpenter, he built his home, his barn, and anything else he needed, himself; and when he wasn’t working, he wore fine Stetson hats, collected firearms and knives, and became an ordained minister. He read the novels of Larry McMurtry, watched old westerns starring John Wayne, and cheered for the Tennessee Volunteers.

But Rusty’s greatest love he reserved for his family, his son and grandchildren, and most of all, his wife, Elaine Braver Street, who went to meet the Lord in February.  Rusty cared for her with a servant’s heart, in both health and sickness, and he stood by her through times that would have crushed a weaker man.  His heart broke when she died, and it stayed broken.  Now, in his eternal rest, may it be restored, as he is reunited with Elaine in eternity.

Rusty is survived by his son, Kelly Street (Arielle) of Knoxville, TN; his brother, Gerald Andrew “Andy” Street (Diane); and his grandchildren, whom he adored: Sandler Street (16) Stetson Street (13), and Solomon Street (9).
