In loving memory of Jannie Gay Lawrence. It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jannie, age 68, of Nashville, TN formerly of Dickson County. Jannie died at her home on January 3, 2026.

Jannie was born in Cheatham County daughter of the late Spurgeon “Red” Lawrence and Jessie Mae Scott Hampton. She was a graduate of Dickson County Senior High School, Class of 1976. She was preceded in death by her father, Spurgeon “Red” Lawrence, her mother and father, Jessie Mae Hampton and William Ronald Hampton, her brothers, Mack Scott, Terry Lawrence, and a sister Cathey Spicer.

To know Jannie was to know what it meant to be truly supported. As a sister she loved unconditionally. At home Jannie’s world revolved around her fur baby Ginger. Ginger was her “everything” and the bond they shared was a true testament to Jannies capacity for unconditional love. Her absence is felt deeply by all who were lucky enough to know her as a friend, a sister or a family member.

Jannies true passion was the open sea. She was the happiest when planning or embarking on a cruise with her friends. When she wasn’t traveling, she expressed her vibrant spirit in jewelry, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected her unique eye for detail and her generous nature.

Jannie is survived by her sisters, Linda Rich and Tammy Lindsey (Chris), nieces and nephews, Rondia Felts (Danny), Jeffrey Rich (Tina), Gary (Wormy) Rich, Chuck Rich (Cindy), David Spicer (Tash, Brian Sesler (Molly), Nathaniel Sesler (Liz), Terry Lynn Pratt (Dee), Jamie Lawrence, and several great nieces and nephews.
