A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. Tom McCoy officiating. Visitation with the family will take place on Tuesday, March 3, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Place of rest will be in the Middle TN State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, March 9, 9, at 1:00 p.m.

Vera Faye Henley Porter, age 62 of Dickson, passed away suddenly on March 1, 2026, at Horizon Medical Center. She was born on March 11, 1963, in Lebanon, TN, to the late Billy James Henley and Billie Sue Boykin Henley.

Vera shared over 43 years of marriage with her soulmate, Gene Porter. Her greatest joy came from being called “Mimi” by her 4 grandchildren, whom she adored and loved spending time with. She was a devoted member of Thompson Station Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her brother: Randall James Henley.

Survivors include her husband: Gene Porter of Dickson; her children: Dustin Porter (Kelsey) of Charlotte and Rachel Barger (Kevin) of Columbia; her grandchildren: Bentley Dodd, Braelyn Dodd, Hagen Porter, and Heidi James Barger; her mother-in-law: Mary Ruth Porter; and sister-in-law: Hannah Young (Jimmy).
